I have focused my practice on motion pictures and branded content, representing award-winning filmmakers, scriptwriters, producers and content providers making great work over a variety of platforms. After working for a large firm for a few years, I’m happy and lucky to be able to work as an independent attorney with independent filmmakers in NYC.
I’ve been immersed in the Brooklyn filmmaking world for many years, where, in addition to my legal practice, I’ve served on the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Film Festival since 2010. I also co-founded the BFF Exchange, where for the past three years we’ve been connecting Brooklyn filmmakers with each other and the larger New York film community. BFFX projects have gone on to screen at the Brooklyn Film Festival as well as HotDocs, SXSW and Tribeca. I’m a screener for documentaries at the BFF as well. I’ve spoken on legal issues related to independent filmmaking at the Made in NY Media Center as well as the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective.
I’m admitted to practice in New York State, the Federal Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and am a member of the New York City Bar Association. I have served on the NYC Bar’s Non-Profit Organizations Committee as well as its Transportation Law Committee. I’ve been a member of the Made in NY Media Center by IFP since 2014, and I’m also an IFP member. I went to Fordham Law School (J.D.) and Brown University (where I got an A.B. in Comparative Literature and Italian).
Outside of my law practice, I serve on the board of directors of Recycle-A-Bicycle, which is a great organization you should learn about and support. I’m also working on a short documentary to be completed and released sometime prior to 2050.
